St Helier and St Aubin on Sunday
Sunday was supposed to be the cloudy day so after an excellent breakfast we went into St Helier on the bus for a look around. Spotted a nice seafood restaurant and booked a table for my birthday dinner before having a stroll around the town. Most shops were closed on Sunday, but Katie managed to buy some shorts and I bought a sun hat. Mark and I had an icecream by the war memorial before we walked back to the Radisson Blu hotel, where we had stayed before, but it had been taken over by a triathlon event.
The snacks on the terrace was reduced to a quick coffee inside before catching the bus to St Aubins. Everywhere was booked up for Sunday lunch so we just had a browse round the art gallery where I bought Rosemary a Jersey boy then we crisps and a sandwich in the bus shelter before returning to St Brelades. Mark and Katie took the earlier bus, which involved a steep descent through the park. They were sitting with a jug of Pimm's in the bar when we arrived.
We had an excellent dinner in the Crab Shack, of fish and crab tacos, despite some problems with the ordering app. We sympathised with the Australian waitress who could not go home because of the pandemic.
