Grey Day in Mablethorpe

Image
Next morning was a typical east coast day. It was cold with low cloud, wind and drizzle off the north sea. We found the concrete steps which run along the beach behind the promenade to take a picture like the black and white photo Rosemary has of her parents, brothers and sisters on the steps 70 years ago. After retreating to a cafe for a hot coffee we bought some rock, spent the 2p's and returned home via Lincoln - mission accomplished.

Skegness to Mablethorpe

We had a nostalgic night away in Mablethorpe at the end of the grande tour from Skegness. We took the car drove to Skeggy for fish and chips, to start trip up the coast. Rosemary had her photo taken with a donkey, spent her bag of 2p's on arcade games then it was off up the coast via Ingoldmels and Anderby Creek. We stopped at the creek for coffee and the beach was deserted despite the fine sunny weather. Our final destination was the Victoria House B&B in Mablethorpe. We could not get anything to eat in the evening because all the cafe closed early for England Euros semifinal. We watched it in the bar and the owner provided free sandwiches and nibbles at half time.
