Home again

We have a noon flight so it was an early breakfast and a short taxi ride to the airport. There was only a brief check by Jet2 that we had a UK locator form number. Rosemary blagged a fast track through security and we had time for a bit of shopping and a coffee before boarding. The flight was full and mask free, security and Covid checks were almost non existent at Birmingham. We were home before 5pm.

Last full day

Walked in the other direction for a beer before doubling back to La Carahuela district for a good tapas lunch before the forecast rain showers in the evening. Serious lack of rain in the south so we will not complain.  It did rain a little in the evening and we had the usual fishy dinner with Duck and Lobster rice on the menu. It was very quiet in the hotel this evening, we packed and had an early night.

Benalmadena walking day

It was another lovely sunny day, but not too hot, so walked to the very modern Arabian style marina at Beny. Rosemary found a nice Kangsroos back pack for her birthday presents from one of the many shops en route. We had some cheap tapas and a walk back through the back streets to spot a good tapas bar for our last lunch on Thursday. We did 20,000 paces for the day.

Rosemary Birthday

Clear blue skies to greet Rosemary on her birthday. We decided to stay local and went up to the roof top pool for a snacky lunch and the the Banana club for afternoon coffee. More prawns, smoked salmon and bucks fizz to start the day. The management delivered a bottle of Cava for pre dinner drinks and the buffet delivered as usual.

Andalucia Day

Crowds of locals around so we went up the slope to the top of town. Their was a street market but no other festivities apparent, we walked around quite a bit. It hadn't been a good weekend of weather for the holiday and Monday evening was much quieter. Prawns on the menu again.

Torremolinos in time for tea.

We took the 1pm flight to Malaga from Birmingham so almost arrived at the MeliĆ” in time for tea. Settled in to our 8th floor room and went down for dinner to find the restaurant heaving. Did not realise it was a holiday weekend in Andalusia and the first time the locals have been able to celebrate their day for 3 years. Excellent buffet with few restrictions except the wearing of masks when moving around the hotel.
