Bournemouth Break

We travelled by train for a three day break to Bournemouth and Poole. It was a nice journey via Birmingham, where we changed, then Oxford, Winchester, Southampton and finally Christchurch before arriving at our destination at 3:15. The trip was not without incident as we forgot to take our 'two together' Railcard which gave us a 30% discount. We managed to blag our way here with the help of some understanding staff. We are staying at the Chocolate Boutique Hotel which specialises in doing chocolate workshops and has free chocolate drop samples in reception and truffles in the rooms. We went for a circular walk down into Bournemouth through the shopping area to the pier and then back up the west cliff to our hotel. We got our paces in before going out for dinner at Lolas, a nice authentic tapas restaurant near the hotel.

Train Home

Enjoyed another full English breakfast before we checked out and left the bag with reception. We wandered back to the sea food stalls and bought some prawn rolls for the journey and a dressed crab to take home. It was a short taxi journey uphill to the station, the London train was on time and so was the return to Leicester. We decided to walk down Charles Street and get the bus home which took ages cos of road works and rush hour traffic. Will book a taxi from Narborough next time.
