Andalucia Day

Image
It's a local holiday today with some festivities and a craft market in town. The dancing and singing was terminated early by the start of heavy rain. What we saw was very good and very loud. The market was postponed completely because of the forecast. We were drenched when we arrived back at the hotel and it's been raining ever since. Chairs in the pool again and rain blowing under the sliding doors. Does not look any better until after we leave. Mark is flying to Denmark tonight in a blizzard. I suppose it's all to do with global warming.

Walk about to Benalmadena

Today could be the only dry day of the week so we got some paces in by walking down the prom to Benny. There was one quick shower on route but we were out all day and walked passed the aquarium to the other beach with its board walk and did a few exercises on the beach gym. On the way back we stopped for the paella and bottle of wine deal at Larry's beach bar.  We sat at the dinner table that is usually occupied by the long term eccentric French lady. We discovered that she was at  the French Embassy, speaks perfect French and Spanish and is having  cateracs done. She will  be back! Level service is like being on a cruise with a drinks package! Unlimited drinks and snacks all day in the Level lounge. It has a multiuser Nespresso machine for making any type of coffee. We also have a  small machine in our room with a nice Bluetooth stereo speaker for streaming music on the WiFi system from my phone. If it does turn wet we will be very comfortable.

Melia Hotel here we come

The taxi was on schedule and we arrived at EMA in plenty of time. Nice flight down to Malaga in only 2hrs 20 mins so we were at the Melia by 4 o'clock. The promised room upgrade turned into a reality so we are going to enjoy Level service for the next week. We were early enough for a gentle stroll to the supermarket to get some milk for the coffee machine. This is the small patio that opens up from the Level lounge.

Torremolinos again

We decided to book a week at the Melia Costa del Sol again to coincide with Rosemary's birthday. So we fly out on Monday and will miss the Beast from the East (as the forecast cold weather has been dubbed). Although it should be a  lot warmer we do expect to have more rain than the UK this week. But we shall see.
