Frosty start - warm finish

Image
I had to scrape ice off the car windscreen before we left home at 8:30am to catch our flight to Malaga at 11:30am.  A strong tail wind from the jet stream meant we arrived at the Costa del Sol 30 mins ahead of schedule and we were in our hotel by about 4:00pm. We were the only couple from our flight to be dropped off at the hotel by the shuttle bus. It was still 18deg and the last of the warm afternoon sun was catching our balcony on the 4th floor. view from balcony The Melia Costa del Sol is large with 540 rooms and is one of a chain of hotels. Packing for Torremolinos

Rosemary has not been well all week with the flu, so it is touch and go whether we should go away or not. The weather forecast is warm and sunny all week, so we decided that a bit of sun should help her recovery. I have checked in on-line, booked the car parking and we are packing ready to go.

Costa del Sol

This year we are going to the Costa del Sol to celebrate Rosemary's birthday. We decided on a package holiday with Jet2.com as they fly at civilised hours from our nearest airport which is East Midlands Airport. There were options of staying in Malaga or nearby Torremolinos amongst others, but we eventually decided on Torremolinos so we could do day trips to Malaga and the other coastal resorts. All appear to be easily accessible by train or bus so we will be based at a 4* semi-commercial hotel offered as part of a package by Jet2 holidays.
